1. MARVELLOUS MINI BEASTS

This is our “Big Bug Talk” where we prove how fascinating and non-scary these animals really are.

WHAT HAPPENS:

Hold, learn about and maybe even stroke as many of our bugs as you dare including a giant African millipede, giant African land snails, Madagascan hissing cockroaches and stick Insects

( *animals are subject to change as their welfare is paramount but we have plenty for you to meet)

WHAT IT DOES:

All key stage topics covered in a fun and entertaining way.

Including classification, adaptations, habitats, diets, environment. Just contact us if there is something more unique you would like us to discuss.

PRIMARY AIM: To have every child (and teacher!) leave, feeling more appreciation for some of the most maligned creatures and to be able to recall at least one fact about each of the animals they’ve met.

TIMING: we recommend 30 mins with groups no bigger than 30 children so everyone gets a chance to see the animals and no one is kept waiting too long.

2. WILDSTORIES

Story-time for the younger ones around our magical (non flaming!) campfire to light the sparks of kids’ imagination.

After the book has been read they can then meet and learn about some of the characters and their friends with the use of puppets and real life mini beasts.

WHAT HAPPENS:

Listen to a bug related story and then hold, learn about and perhaps even feed some of our bug buddies

( *animals are subject to change as their welfare is paramount but we have plenty for you to meet)

PRIMARY AIM: To meet some amazing animals - plus learning to listen, join in with and enjoy some interactive storytelling.

TIMING: This can be booked as a set of 4-6 sessions over consecutive weeks with different stories and VIP bug guests- or as a one off. It works best with groups of 15 for 25 min sessions. We can also recommend fun, specific bug related activities for the children to complete before or after our visit.

Hi Natalie,

Thank you so much for your visit to us last week. All three classes had an amazing time, especially the teachers! We would definitely look to have another visit from you next year!

“I asked WidLife Live to come speak to my Reception class about insects, mini beasts and reptiles as we have been learning about different types of animals…We were all thrilled to be able to look at the amazing creatures with our own eyes, stroke and hold them! Both Natalie and Nadine were extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was a great afternoon full of amazing and active learning which the children and teachers benefitted greatly from. I’m excited to book Natalie and Nadine to come speak to my future Reception classes!”

Hi Natalie,

I just wanted to say thank you so much all the hard work that went into making yesterday a brilliant time for the Pre-Prep children and adults! You were both so lovely with the children and natural performers when it came to working with a 'real life bat'. I hope you weren't too exhausted when you got home!

Best wishes
